Join us for CCA Anywhere, featuring a special evening of music from Ensemble Mik Nawooj. In this video, principals of this group talk about their process and inspirations, while sharing live footage of performances.

Led by composer/pianist JooWan Kim, Hip-Hop Orchestra Ensemble Mik Nawooj (EMN) creates Meta Music by sampling principles of hip hop and classical. Executed with MC/lyricist Sandman, a lyric soprano, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, piano, drums, bass and a featured dancer, the music is rigorous, nuanced, accessible, and free from the dogmas of Western European concert music aesthetic. They have been featured on National Geographic, United Nations Office for Partnership, ESPN, Upworthy, NowThis, Pitchfork, Wall Street Journal, NPR, SF Chronicle, OZY and more.
