Meet Jason Krull

Production Coordinator, Head Audio

How long have you worked at the Center?  2 Years.

What do you do?  I'm the Production Coordinator and Head Audio. In a nutshell, I advance shows, and run and coordinate the audio on many events as well. 

What did you do before you came to work for the Center?  I was the Assistant Theater Technical Supervisor at Mesa Arts Center.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?  The staff! Also, the quest for the perfect live mix. 

What's something people might be surprised to learn about your job? Sometimes you can mix a show and never actually meet the artist! It is so strange to not have that initial hello and introduction, but often, you are just working with the production team.

What has been your favorite show you’ve seen at the Center, and why? Lucia Micarelli. She and her band were so talented. It was a total joy to work with them.

What accomplishments are you most proud of? For personal, I have to go with my children. They are simply incredible. Professionally, within the last year I have graduated from Venue Management school and completed Dante Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. Will get Level 3 certified when I have a moment to go back to that. 

Where were you born and raised?  I was born in Fargo, North Dakota, but have been in the East Valley since 1980 at 4 years old - so I'm pretty much a native here.

Who is your favorite visual and/or performing artist?  There are too many to list! However, I was very excited when Bernadette Peters came to CCA in March. She is certainly an artist that I have always admired. 

What performer have you always wanted to see?  Kristin Chenoweth.

Do you have any upcoming challenges or opportunities?  Looking forward to the new audio consoles at CCA, and the training for that equipment. This is a giant leap forward in the way we do things here at CCA, and will bring great improvements and capabilities.
