Meet DJ Hernandez

Production Tech

How long have you worked at the Center? About eight years.

What do you do? I'm a production tech, which means I help maintain the audio equipment and run it during shows. It's not too often people think about the work that happens behind the scenes!

What is the most enjoyable part of your job? There's something new every day. I love having fresh challenges.

What's the best show you've seen on the CCA stage? Australian Pink Floyd! As one would expect with a Pink Floyd show, it sounded amazing and looked even better, with all the different lighting effects.

What Chandler business(es) and landmarks do you show off to out-of-town visitors (besides CCA, of course)? The whole Downtown Chandler square. It has a lot of excellent businesses. One of my favorites is SanTan Brewing - order a Juicy Jack and the Southwest Fried Chicken.

What's got your attention online right now? The Instagram accounts for the Hubble Space Telescope (@nasahubble) and NASA (@nasa), plus anything on Mark Rober's YouTube channel. Science is really interesting to me, and I absolutely love anything about space.
