(Phoenix, Ariz.) Chandler Center for the Arts (CCA) and Showtune Productions announce the cast for its production of Disney's Beauty and The Beast Live in Concert which will be performed March 22 at 7:30 pm and March 23 at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm in the CCA's Steena Murray Mainstage, 250 N. Arizona Ave.
Tickets are $38, $48, and $58 and $15 for youth and are on sale at chandlercenter.org or by calling 480-782-2680.
Disneys' Beauty and The Beast Live in Concert features animated projections, costumed actors and a live orchestra led by JR McAlexander. The classic musical with its beloved songs including Be Our Guest, Beauty and The Beast, and Human Again will be performed by a company of professional actors and musicians from around the Valley.
Katilynn Bluth, known to Valley audiences from her numerous roles at Phoenix Theatre Company and Arizona Broadway Theater will take the role of Belle, with bass/baritone Loren Battieste headlining in the role of the Beast. Battieste has performed in opera companies around the country, as well as Chandler Opera Company and the Hale Theatre Center. Courtney Washington who has appeared in the national tours of Broadway musicals including The Wedding Singer, Beehive: The 60’s musical, Hairspray and High School Musical takes the role of Mrs. Potts, while Rob Watson, who has also appeared in numerous roles with Phoenix Theatre Company and Arizona Broadway Theater takes the role of Cogsworth. 9 year-old Scottsdale resident Thomas Kim will take the role of Chip. Thomas has appeared in productions at Greasepaint and Desert Stages Theatres, and has been studying ballet since the age of 4.
