This spring, Chandler celebrates Jazz Month as both the City of Chandler Jazz Festival and Chandler Center for the Arts present events across the city. Together, these performances highlight jazz’s rich history and the creativity that continues to shape the genre.

The City of Chandler Jazz Festival brings free live music to outdoor stages, offering residents and visitors a chance to experience jazz in a relaxed, open-air setting. Featuring a mix of local artists, the festival showcases a range of styles that reflect jazz’s ongoing evolution. Explore the lineup.

Chandler Center for the Arts presents a free concert featuring Quarteto Nuevo performing their acclaimed Jazz Road Suite: Western States on Sunday, April 19, 2026. This indoor concert blends jazz, classical, and folk influences, reflecting the wide-ranging musical traditions that have shaped American music. Seating is first-come, first-served, making it accessible for jazz fans of all ages. RSVP for Quarteto Nuevo.

Jazz appreciation continues at CCA on Saturday, May 9, 2026, when jazz guitar legend Pat Metheny performs. A multiple Grammy Award winner, Metheny brings decades of innovation and artistry to the stage with his Side Eye III+ project. Joining him as vocalist is Leonard Patton, who has performed at CCA with LP and The Vinyl, promising a memorable evening of jazz.

Beyond these performances, Jazz Month also highlights creative work happening behind the scenes. CCA Artist-in-Residence Ashli St. Armant is developing her new production, The Yellowroot: A Juke Joint Cabaret, set to premiere in March 2027. Rooted in storytelling, The Yellowroot brings jazz, blues, and soul to life in a theatrical celebration of African American folklore and music. Drawing inspiration from classic tales like “The Legend of John Henry” and “Brer Rabbit,” alongside newly reimagined stories such as “Sukey and the Mermaid,” the project reflects the spirit of early juke joints, community gathering spaces where jazz and blues flourished and stories were passed from one generation to the next.

Whether you’re a lifelong jazz lover or just discovering the genre, Chandler’s Jazz Appreciation Month offers something for everyone. Find more jazz events in Chandler.
