A deeply soulful and authentic record, Whitney Jones invites listeners of Based On Reality into a world where music transcends mere sound and becomes an emotional experience. This album's rich instrumentation, featuring a blend of horns, guitars, bass, keyboards, and drums, provides a lush sonic landscape for Whitney's captivating vocals. Written and produced largely by Whitney herself, the album shines with moments of collaboration, as she worked with talented producers W. Timothy Bailey, Jr., Nick Blount, and Josiah Walker on select tracks. The album also features co-writing and performing credits with her husband, Christopher Boozer, further infusing Based On Reality with the personal and intimate touch of love and partnership.
The quality of the music is undeniable for this live album release concert. Performing with Whitney will be a powerhouse lineup of musicians including Dr. Jesse McGuire on trumpet, Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Recipient Buddy Strong on keyboards, Grammy Award winning Andre Frappier on guitar, Multi-Grammy Award-winning Mel Brown on bass, Ira King on drums, and Frank Valdes on percussion. The supporting vocal lineup features the amazing Tuena Marie, Nico B. and Celia King. Soulful singer and songwriter, Packer Lane, will open the Evening with his heartfelt songs.
