Join Chandler Center for the Arts for a free screening of "Take Me to the River" (the first film in the series, winner of more than ten festival awards including SXSW and Raindance London). This full-length feature film, directed by Martin Shore, celebrates the inter-generational and inter-racial musical influence of Memphis in the face of pervasive discrimination and segregation.

The film brings multiple generations of award-winning Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians together, following them through the creative process of recording a historic new album, to re-imagine the utopia of racial, gender and generational collaboration of Memphis in its heyday. Featuring Terrence Howard, William Bell, Snoop Dogg, Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Lil P-Nut, Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Yo Gotti, Bobby Rush, Frayser Boy, The North Mississippi All-Stars and many more. Premiered in September 2014 on 100 screens in over 40 cities.

This is a free event. Doors open one hour before show time. All seats are no charge with general seating on a first-come-first-served basis.
