For the summer season, join us for “Exposures: An Exhibition of Textile Arts”, a textile-based art exhibit that will be presented by the Chandler Arts Commission and the Chandler Cultural Foundation and exhibited at both the Chandler Center for the Arts and the Vision Gallery in Chandler, Arizona. The exhibit is to be juried by Phoenix based textile artist Ann Morton and will feature artworks by members of SAQA Arizona Chapter, better known as Studio Art Quilt Associates, a national nonprofit organization.
SAQA was founded in 1989 by Yvonne Porcella and a group of 50 artists, and in years since it has grown and expanded to over 3,300 members in 31 countries and is run by a dedicated crew of staff members and volunteers. The organization’s mission is to promote the art quilt medium through education, exhibitions, publications, documentation, and professional development.
ART QUILT: “a creative visual artwork that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.”
